Dusty Savoie grew up on a small ranch in Louisiana. He graduated from Cameron High School in Creole, Louisiana in 2001. Dusty spent most of his spare time traveling to rodeos for extra money. Being around cattle, horses and ranch dogs, it came natural to Dusty to have a passion for all animals. Soon after high school graduation, he enrolled at MacNeese University in Lake Charles Louisiana. It was in college where he met his sweetheart and current wife, and after college moved to her home town of Moore Haven Florida where she had a large family cattle ranch. Dusty fit right in, and starting working the ranch full time as a ranch hand, in which he still does today. During his time at the ranch, he experienced a lot of problems with the local wild hog population that was rooting up and destroying grazing pastures, needed to feed the cattle on the ranch. At about the same time, Dusty met Justin Guerry and quickly became best of friends as they relocated some of the problem hogs. Dusty was fascinated by the dogs ability to track down these critters and soon found himself starting to raise and train dogs as well. If you can’t find Dusty working hard on the ranch fixing fences or herding cattle, rest assured, he is probably out with the boys in the Florida outdoors.
